Collection: Strobilation Series

Strobilation is a collection of fine art, conceptual photographs by Sydney Paige Richardson. Strobilation is a reproduction by division of the body into segments, which develop into separate individuals. It’s how some species, like worms and jellyfish, reproduce. Sydney takes on strobilation as a dissection of the self, reducing herself down to segments – her mind, her heart, her passions, her pain, and her soul – in search of a purpose. In hopes that maybe when she strips herself bare, she will be able to see who she truly is.

This series was featured at the Georgetown Art Center in Georgetown, Texas during the summer of 2023.
